IVAI EVENTS

IVAI co-ordinates a range of events throughout the year, including our summer program, awards and grants for study abroad, school outreach performance opportunities and master class participation.

SUMMER PROGRAM

Our international summer programs offer a wide range of intensive studies in vocal technique, style and interpretation, languages and diction, movement and acting, role preparation and career development.

IVAI performance opportunities encompass fully staged operatic productions, opera scenes, concerts with orchestra and public master classes, given by distinguished guest artists, most recently including Thomas Hampson, Patricia Racette, Diana Soviero and Dawn Upshaw, as well as resident faculty members Joan Dornemann, Mignon Dunn, Sherrill Milnes, and Michel Sénéchal, among many others.

Young artists

For young artists our programs offer an opportunity to develop further and prepare for career entry.

Seasoned artists

For established professionals, the programs provide much-needed time to prepare for the next season, renew vocal technique and explore new repertoire in a sensitive, non-threatening and caring environment.

AUDITIONS

IVAI’s admission criterion is very selective and admission is usually determined by a live audition. When distance is an issue, a recorded audition may be accepted.

DATES

Our upcoming Summer program is currently on hold due to Covid-19. We hope to schedule our next program soon – check our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for updates.

FEES

Fees for the summer program vary based on length and location. Our scholarship program is supported by private donation and awarded to individuals of exceptional merit.

“One of the best opera programs in the world…I am proud to be a part of this prestigious summer program.”

Sherrill Milnes, baritone
